Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Blu-ray and DVD Out this December

Great news to all Harry Potter fanatics! I just received a newsletter from Warner Bros., noted in the email that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Blu-ray and DVD will be out in the market this 8th of December. Awesome!

After the blockbuster hit of the sixth part movie and sequel of Harry Potter last July 15, you can now bring home the Half-Blood Prince's wickedness.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was indeed a great dark movie filled with magic, soothing charms and spells, and of wizard's war.

To those who do not know Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, here's a movie plot from the Official Harry Potter FB Fanpage.

In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.

Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

David Yates, who directed the 2007 summer blockbuster “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” returned to direct “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” David Heyman, the producer of all of the Harry Potter films, is producing the film, together with David Barron. Screenwriter Steve Kloves, who scripted the first four installments of the film franchise, adapted the screenplay based on the book by J.K. Rowling.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Heyday Films production, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” the much-anticipated sixth installment of the Warner Bros. Pictures Harry Potter film franchise based on the beloved novels by J.K. Rowling. Once again heading the cast, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reprise their roles as young wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who are facing new challenges and dangers in the wake of Lord Voldemort’s return. They are reunited with returning Harry Potter cast members, including Helena Bonham Carter, David Bradley, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Tom Felton, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Natalia Tena, Julie Walters and David Thewlis, as well as Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright. Two award-winning actors joined the film’s all-star cast in their first Harry Potter film. Academy Award winner Jim Broadbent (“Iris,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”) plays Potions Professor Horace Slughorn. Helen McCrory (“Becoming Jane,” “The Queen”) plays Narcissa Malfoy, mother to Draco Malfoy and sister to the evil Bellatrix Lestrange. Additionally, several young newcomers are making their feature film debuts in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” Jessie Cave won the role of Lavender Brown, who has eyes for Ron Weasley. Nine-year-old Hero Fiennes Tiffin is seen in the role of the young Tom Riddle at age 11, while 16-year-old Frank Dillane plays the teenage Riddle, who is already on the path to becoming the evil Lord Voldemort. Two-time Oscar nominee Bruno Delbonnel (“A Very Long Engagement,” “Amelie”) served as the director of photography, marking his first Harry Potter film. Returning Harry Potter veterans included production designer Stuart Craig, editor Mark Day, costume designer Jany Temime, creature & make-up effects designer Nick Dudman, special effects supervisor John Richardson, visual effects supervisor Tim Burke and composer Nicholas Hooper.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” was released last July 15, 2009, by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
